At present, VSLC is continuing to deliver training courses normally.

There have been a small number of cases of COVID-19 infection in Vietnam. VSLC is monitoring the situation and monitoring advice from the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization.

At present,
VSLC are continuing with our operations and training courses without
interruption and we anticipate being able to continue to do so. With injury
being the leading cause of death in Vietnam, it’s vital that education around
best practice first aid and water safety continues in Vietnam. Preventing cross
infection is an important part of our courses at all times.

To further limit any risk, please note:

If
you have a cough, are sneezing, experiencing breathing difficulties and or have
a fever, we ask that you do not take part in our training courses until you
have fully recovered and taken medical advice. It is recommended to seek
medical advice early in the event you experience these symptoms.

If
you have come in to contact with a person suspected of having the COVID-19
virus within the latest 14 days, or traveled to mainland China or any area
where there is an outbreak of the virus, we ask that you do not attend our
courses until after at least 14 days has passed.

We
use manikins for practical work in most of our courses. Our manikins are
cleaned prior to use. As part of learning cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR),
you will practice giving 'mouth to mouth' rescue breaks on these manikins.
Manikins will be cleaned properly between use by each participant - however, if
at this time you do not feel comfortable participating in this aspect of the
course, you will be exempt from doing so.

There
is mixed advice regarding the effectiveness of face masks. The WHO advises that
you only need to wear one if you caring for a person with suspected COVID-19
infection, or if you are coughing or sneezing - and in these situations, we ask
that you do not attend our courses at this time anyway. If however you would
like to wear a face mask during the training, you are welcome to do so.

It
is important to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after
training, and before and after each practical element of our courses.
